Tell her: There is no cost to raising each other up
Fellow Mothers, Fathers, sisters, parents....one of the most important practices you can engage in is to raise up other parents.
It's easy to assume that just because she LOOKS like she has it together, that she feels that way.
In fact, more often than not, us parents try to put on a happy face in times of stress or overwhelm. What this does is only compound the isolation that we already feel and fear.
Your homework for this week: Tell at least 5 friends of yours how well they are doing, how hard this can be, and how strong she is!
Pick one concrete behavior that you see and highlight it.
Is she patient while her baby is crying?
Is she taking deep breaths?
Did she let someone help her? Did she manage to take a shower--which some days is a win in and of itself!
There is no cost to raising each other up. And we need each other more than ever.
P.S. Extra credit if you tell a stranger how well she is doing.
Hint: grocery stores are where you will often find exhausted Mommies and melting down babies and kids.
Let's do our part. We got this.
